With the brand new Markets in Crypto Belongings regulation (MiCA) set to take impact inside the bloc in 2024, the European Systemic Danger Board (ESRB), chaired by EU central financial institution chief Christine Lagarde, warned in a Thursday report of the dangers of crypto lending and staking, and of excessive leverage in digital asset markets.
