Solana suffered a number of well-documented (and excoriated) community outages in 2022 and 2021, a few of which have been pushed by bots pummeling one nook of the blockchain concurrently. In a single such outage, in September 2021, bots crowded a token sale on trade Raydium with extra transactions than Solana may deal with. Solana mainly broke, going offline for 17 hours – an eon in 24/7 cryptocurrency markets.
