Invast Global Onboards Cyrus Poon as Managing Director for Prime Services

Australia-headquartered Invast Global has further strengthened its leadership team with the latest hiring of Cyrus Poon as the Managing Director for its Prime Services, the company announced on Thursday.

“It’s been refreshing to be part of a team where ideas can be brought to fruition quickly,” Poon said in a statement.

“Invast Global has an appetite to move fast in line with technology. The team possesses an entrepreneurial spirit that is crucial to success and there is a real focus on building long-standing partnerships with clients. I see opportunities to work very closely with the institutional community.

Solid Background

Poon joined the Australian broker from BNY Mellon, a company he parted after 12 years as Director and Responsible Manager. There, he took ownership of all trading functions of Pershing Securities Australia that including domestic and offshore agency execution , trading infrastructure, stock lending, and forex .

He brings more than 15 years of experience to the new role at Invast. He started his career in 2006 as a Trader at E*TRADE Financial. He also worked at optionsXpress and D2MX, according to his Linkedin profile.

Commenting on the new appointment, Invast’s CEO, Gavin White said: “We are excited to have Cyrus join the team. He is a crucial hire to ensure we can continue to deliver our high-touch bespoke service to our valued clients and deliver on our strategic vision and road map.”

Invast, in recent months, made several key hires. In its Prime Services team alone, the company onboarded two Directors earlier this year, Matt Harris and Harry Fry. Further, it strengthened its EMEA operations with the appointment of Lochlan White as Chief Commercial Officer for EMEA and Liam Smith as COO for the region. The company also promoted Riana Chaili as the CEO of EMEA.
