Equiti Group, the parent company of some of the prominent forex and CFD brands and prime brokerage providers in the industry, has appointed a former Chief Information Officer at Euronext Securities, Christoffer Rosenkilde Nielsen, as its new Chief Technology Officer.
Nielsen will lead the firm’s global technology strategy, Equiti Group told Finance Magnates on Monday in a statement announcing the appointment.
The executive will achieve this task, the company said, by facilitating ‘a strong engineering culture’ across the organization.
Nielsen was also tasked with providing technical leadership across all of Equiti Group’s businesses.
Iskandar Najjar, Equiti Group CEO, expressed delight at onboarding Nielsen as the new CTO.
“His extensive fintech experience will support the company’s ambitions to further transform our product offering and operations, which will be critical to our continued success as we explore new ways to leverage our technology and propel future growth,” Najjar explained.
Speaking on his appointment, Nielsen expressed excitement at helping to enhance the multi-asset provider’s product offerings by working alongside the firm’s talented team of engineers.
“The vision and ambition at Equiti captured my attention immediately. Particularly the vision to deliver a world-class user experience and innovate the way clients trade. We are all technology users, and success is determined by how we adopt and use that technology,” Nielsen explained.
The Engineering Veteran
As an engineering executive, Nielsen holds sway across both the fintech industry and academia.
He holds an executive Master of Business Administration from the Copenhagen Business School, and a Master’s and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the Technical University of Denmark.
Between April 2020 and November 2021, Nielsen served as the Chief Information Officer of Euronext Securities in Copenhagen in Denmark.
On his LinkedIn profile, Nielsen wrote that he was “the Head of Technology at the Danish CSD during acquisition by, and integration to, the pan-European financial infrastructure company Euronext.”

Among other duties at Saxo Bank, the executive managed a team of 90+ engineers in Denmark, India and the U.S., and also expanded his team to the Netherlands and China.
Nine years earlier, between August 2014 and December 2008, Nielsen served as Head of Pension and Investment IT at ATP, Assistant Vice President at Saxo Bank, a Senior Consultant at Netcompany.
