by Jeremy

Australia-based forex and contract for difference (CFD) broker, ACY Securities, has promoted Alla Darwish, its Head of Sales and Marketing for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, to the position of Managing Director, MENA.

Darwish spent almost three years in the previous position which he started in October 2019.

The executive shared the update on his new appointment on Thursday on LinkedIn.

However, his profile shows that he took on the new position earlier in June.

Darwish describes himself as “a dedicated, performance-driven individual with a well-rounded background in financial markets, business management, sales, marketing strategies, and financial analysis, and a proven ability to perform efficiently within high pressured environments.”

The marketing expert’s appointment follows ACY Securities’ recent opening of a new office in Melbourne as part of the firm’s expansion plan and desire to public in 2024.

In April, ACY Securities had announced the appointment of Andrew Taylor, the former Chief Operating Officer of Invast Financial Services, as its new Managing Director.

Darwish’s Dossier

Darwish, who holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kaplan Business School in Australia, has over a decade of experience in the industry.

He has worked with a number of Australian forex brokers after he left the Jordonian National Rugby Team in December, 2010.

Before joining ACY Securities, he was a Trading Sales Manager at IFGM, a top Australian forex and CFD broker launched in 2012.

He joined the broker in April 2018 and left in June 2019 after spending one year and three months at the firm.

Darwish worked for Vantage FX’s office in Sydney between September 2013 and March 2015 and served as a Senior Manager of Sales and Trading for the Asia Pacific and MENA region.

After kick starting his career as a US Stock Market Broker Trainee in January 2008, Darwish joined APEX FX Trading as a Sales Trading Manager.

He would go on to work at the trading firm for five years and two months after a three-year stint as a rugby player in Amman, Jordan.
