Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) had donated over $70 million to many U.S. politicians earlier than his crypto empire collapsed on Nov. 11, 2022.

Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke was named among the many politicians who acquired as much as $1 million in donations from the disgraced FTX founder.

As legal investigations towards SBF intensified, most of the politicians opted to return the donations.

O’Rourke’s marketing campaign disclosed on Nov. 29 that it had returned the “unsolicited $1 million donation” to keep away from the moral headache associated to SBF’s donations.
