Demetrios Zamboglou, a Professor of
Practice at the Rome Business School, has joined trading and investment
solutions provider, Doto, as Group Chief Executive Officer.
Zamboglou was previously the Group Chief
Operating Officer at international trading provider, CFI Financial Group.
The executive worked for the firm, which he joined in July 2020, for a little
over two years.
He announced his appointment as Group CEO
of Doto on Friday on his LinkedIn page.
Zamboglou, who holds a PhD in Behavioural
Finance from King’s College London, noted that he will be responsible for the
management of Doto’s operations and overall vision.
Forex Experience
Since starting out in 2006 as a
Market Risk Analyst at SpreadCo Limited, a UK-based financial spread betting
and CFD provider, Zamboglou has worked for several top players in the banking
and forex industry including ForexTime (FXTM), Alpari, and Forex Club.
Between December 2015 and November 2016,
Zamboglou was the General Manager of online forex and CFD broker FXTM based in London, the
United Kingdom.
He joined Russia-based Forex Club Group of
Companies in February 2012, spending only a year and five months at the
multi-business organization.
During his short career stint at Forex Club, he rose to become
the Chief Risk Officer in February 2013.
Furthermore, at online forex broker, Alpari, he served
as the Vice President of Risk Management for three and a half years and was based in
the UK.
Experience in Digital Asset
Zamboglou’s experience also spans the
digital asset industry.
Between May 2019 and June 2020, he worked
as the Chief Operating Officer of Bank Account Based Blockchain (BABB), a
decentralized finannce platform that leverages blockchain and biometrics
technology to provide peer-to-peer banking services.
Between September 2017 and January 2021,
he was an Advisor for Genesis Vision, a blockchain and smart contracts-based
private trust management market.
Zamboglou also held advisory roles at Non-Zero Blockchain Software, a blockchain-based loyalty platform for
retail financial services, Blockpass, a self-sovereign identity portal for
regulated industries, and ThePower Ecosystem, a web3 infrastructure company.
Meanwhile, between November 2016 and
December 2018, the executive was the European CEO and Global Chief Business
Development Officer at Lykke Corp, a fintech company seeking to bridge the gap
between traditional finance and blockchain.
