Jonathan Cumberlidge, a veteran of the forex and CFDs industry, has joined BVNK, which is a banking and crypto service provider, as a Sales Director for foreign exchange (forex). According to a Linkedin update, he will be based in the United Kingdom.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Sales Director – FX at BVNK!” Cumberlidge wrote on the professional networking platform.
BVNK is headquartered in London and is developing crypto banking services. The company does not hold any banking license but offers services through partnering with other regulated companies. It is offering payments , trading, custody and yield integrated into a single account.
The startup also closed a $40 million Series A funding round in May with a post-money valuation of $340 million.
An FX Industry Veteran
Cumberlidge now brings more than 15 years of forex industry experience to the crypto banking company. He joined BVNK from Finalto (formerly TradeTech), which he joined in September 2018 as a Sales Director. Now, Finalto, which operates the Markets.com brand, has been sold to Hong Kong-based Gopher Investments in a $250 million all-cash deal.
Before that, Cumberlidge was with Saxo Bank for more than two years. He was the UK Head of Private Sales there and parted as the Head of Relationship Management Strategy. He also served as the Director of Saxo Capital Markets UK between September 2017 and April 2018.
His other industry experience includes being the Director of Sales for EMEA at GAIN Capital and Manager of UK Business Development at GFT Markets, among a few others.
