Jack Dorsey’s reduction fund pledges $5M donation to Bitcoin-focused nonprofit

Brink, a nonprofit group aimed toward supporting Bitcoin builders, has introduced a $5 million donation from Block CEO Jack Dorsey and his Begin Small funding group.

In a June 14 tweet, Brink mentioned Dorsey and Begin Small pledged to make $1 million in donations yearly for the following 5 years as a part of “developer funding efforts.” Previous to his departure as CEO of Twitter, Dorsey launched the fund in April 2020 in an effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. On the time, the Twitter CEO mentioned he had seeded the fund with $1 billion.
