NinjaTrader Group, owner of trading software and futures brokerage services provider, NinjaTrader, has appointed US-based cryptocurrency cash exchange Coinme’s former Vice President of Engineering, Hazim Macky, as its Chief Technology Officer.
The company announced Macky’s appointment on Monday in a press statement.
Macky, who was Coinme’s Chief Information Security Officer, served at the exchange for one year and eight months before the appointment.
NinjaTrade Group said the new executive’s experience from over two decades in software engineering and technology leadership will help to take its technology experience offerings to clients “to an entirely new level.”
“NinjaTrader Group is committed to innovation and, through technology, making futures available to a broader audience. Hazim has a tremendous track record of building and enhancing easy-to-use technology that has a tangible impact all over the world, including with iconic brands like Amazon and Microsoft,” NinjaTrader Group CEO, Martin Franchi said in a statement.
Additionally, Macky expressed his joy at joining the firm and praised the firm’s distinctive technology for meeting the demand for retail futures services.
“Over the coming year, we’ll be significantly expanding our team, attracting great talent and investing in diversity as we build out new products and offerings,” he said.
Macky’s Career Brief
At Coinme, Macky led the organization’s engineering, infrastructure, security and data analytics teams, to make crypto accessible for its customers.
Before Coinme, he served as the Director of Financial Systems, at the digital remittance service firm Remitly for over two years.
He was in the role between October 2018 and January 2021, helping the digital firm to provide remittance services to immigrants and their families.
For almost three years, he was a Software Engineering Manager at Amazon where he led the engineering team “to push voice shopping into the future, by making it a smarter, personal and pleasant experience.”
Additionally, for over five years, starting from November 2021, Macky was a Senior Engineering Manager at Microsoft.
He led the technology company’s customer experience engineering team dedicated to the search engine, Bing.
Several years before his career stint at Microsoft, Macky worked in various capacities for different firms, starting out as a Software Engineer in June 2002 at Orascom Construction Industries.
