The apply of calling something aside from Bitcoin a rip-off (or, much less artfully, a s**tcoin) is usually labeled “poisonous maximalism.” On-line bitcoiners who defend the community towards detractors and assault “imitators” are what MicroStrategy’s former CEO Michael Saylor referred to as a “cybernetic immune system.” Traditionally, maximalism isn’t uncommon in tech – although it usually ends in embarrassment for any outspoken critics of, say, automobiles, planes, telephones and the web.
