Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), respectively the chair and rating member of the committee, mentioned in a joint assertion that the lawmakers would wish to hear in regards to the collapse of FTX and its “broader penalties” for the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The committee plans to listen to testimony from now-former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and representatives from FTX, Alameda Analysis and Binance, which briefly advised it will purchase FTX.
