“Rising market costs enticed merchants to tackle extra leverage, within the type of borrowing stablecoins, which was then used to purchase extra crypto,” analysts Sheena Shah and Kinji Steimetz wrote. “Falling market costs had been catalyzed by a discount in crypto liquidity attributable to merchants closing lengthy crypto positions, adopted by redemptions of the stablecoin obtained.”
