Securrency Capital, an Abu Dhabi-regulated institutional decentralized finance (DeFi) brokerage, announced on Wednesday the hiring of two industry veterans, Neale Croutear-Foy and Chris Pugh.

Croutear-Foy joined as the Chief Technology Officer, while Pugh is the Head of Product Delivery. Both of them will directly report to Phil Langton, the company’s Chief Operating Officer.

Both the appointments came only months after the company secured an operational license from the Abu Dhabi regulator that allows it to deal in investments as a matched principal and provide custodian services. It can offer digital asset trading services to retail customers.

Two Key Roles

As suggested in the role, Croutear-Foy is going to take over charge of the technological aspect of the broker. The press release also clarified that Pugh, with more than 25 years of industry experience, is now responsible for the end-to-end delivery of new products in the company.

“With these appointments, announced in the run-up to the imminent official launch of the firm, Securrency Capital is fulfilling its objective to further enhance the team with a balance of IT domain expertise paired with extensive product experience,” Langton said.

Pugh started his professional career in early 1993 in IT roles. He has worked for several companies, including RBC Capital Markets, TD Securities, BMO Capital Markets, CIBC and TMX Group, in executive roles.

Croutear-Foy is a technology expert, joining Securrency from Apex Group where he was the Chief Technology Officer for Digital Banking. Additionally, he worked with First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Equiniti, NEX and several other big financial brands.

“These two senior hires reflect our commitment to further build on the success of Securrency Capital and prove that our vision for token issuance and digital trading can attract market experts,” said Amir Tabch, the CEO and Chair of the Board at Securrency Capital.
